Alexander studied product and furniture design at Northumbria University, before going on to work briefly for Benchmark. Following on from this he took up a place as a designer in residence at Northumbria, where he began working as a freelance industrial designer.
Alexander's design process is founded on a strong knowledge and understanding of materials and processes. His work utilises both traditional and modern manufacturing techniques.
His work is often simplistic in design, but without compromise in aesthetic. His work features clean lines, soft curves and rounded forms, often combining materials offering a contrast and playfulness in an attempt to create pleasure and intrigue in everyday objects.
